The UND Center for Family Medicine is part of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. All our faculty physicians are Board Certified Family Practitioners. Faculty members of the UND School of Medicine supervise residents who have earned their Doctorate of Medicine degree and are specializing in Family Medicine.

The UND Center for Family Medicine recently announced that Dr. Rhonda Schafer-McLean has joined the faculty at the UND Center for Family Medicine. Dr. Schafer-McLean is a Wilton native and has been practicing in Bismarck since 2009. Dr. Schafer-McLean specializes in women’s healthcare including Obstetrics, Gynecology, surgery, and in-office procedures.
Dr. Schafer-McLean completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Colorado in Denver, then returned to Bismarck and worked for a local clinic before joining the UND Center for Family Medicine. Dr. Schafer-McLean said, “I love teaching and sharing best practices with residents in a patient-focused environment, plus having all of the amenities like labs and procedure rooms. This was a way to work near my hometown and give back to State by working with residents. Dr. Schafer-McLean is a recipient of the AOA Teaching Excellence Award from the University of North Dakota and the OB/GYN Outstanding Resident Teacher Award from the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
